Akmolinsk Bank Building

The building was situated in present A. Bukeikhan str. It was then one of the biggest and highest houses in the town.

Akmolinsk occupied a dominant position at the important caravan route and was famous for its annual Konstantinovskaya and Dmitrievskaya fairs. On account of considerable currency for those days an acute need in a home bank emerged. And the largest bank of Western Siberia cared of it having opened there its branch office.

During the pre-revolutionary period, Siberian Bank was the favorite of financial magnates and rich salesmen. Two sections of the lower storey under the bank were occupied by «renskiy cellar» belonging to the Association of brothers P.V. and D.V. Egorovs. There, all year round, expensive wine and fresh fruits were sold. There was a sign-board over the shop «Alcoholic drinks and citruses all the year round». According to A. Dubitsky's data, such rarities had a considerable price and could be afforded only by well-to-do people who celebrated successful bargains, business meetings, and family festivities.

In the Soviet period, the building was given to Tselinograd municipal department of National Bank. In the 1990s, the house was pulled down.
